Email support@beamize.app. Write to us in English or French.

So we can help on the first reply, please include:

  • Both devices, for example Apple Vision Pro and a Mac.
  • Their system versions, for example visionOS 27.2 and macOS 27.2.
  • The Beamize build. It is at the bottom of Home, as in Version 1.0 (14).
  • What you did, and what happened.
  • Any message Beamize showed, word for word.

If you test the beta, you can also send feedback from TestFlight.

Requirements

  • Beamize on two devices: Apple Vision Pro, iPhone, iPad or Mac.
  • visionOS, iOS, iPadOS or macOS 27.2 or later.
  • Both devices on the same local network.
  • For agents: a Mac, and Beamize Pro.

There is no account and no server. Pictures go from one device to the other on your network, encrypted.

Pair two devices

You pair two devices once. One device shares its screen. The other watches it. On a Mac, click where this page says tap.

  1. Open Beamize on both devices. Allow Local Network when the system asks.
  2. On the device you want to see, open the Broadcast tab and tap Start Broadcast.
  3. On the other device, open the Watch tab and tap Search for Devices. A search lasts 30 seconds.
  4. Under Find Devices, tap Ask to Watch next to the device.
  5. On the sharing device, the request appears in Broadcast, under Requests. Tap Accept.
  6. The sharing device shows a six-digit code. Type it on the watching device within two minutes.
  7. On the sharing device, tap Share Screen, then confirm in the system's sharing picker.

The picture appears on the watching device. After three wrong codes, nothing is paired. Wait a minute, then ask again.

Next time

Later connections need no Accept and no code. In Watch, pick the device under Paired.

Each time Beamize starts on the sharing device, tap Start Broadcast there, then Share Screen. The system asks you to confirm Share Screen once each time Beamize starts. After that, watching devices can come and go, and the share goes on.

Stop sharing

Only the sharing device ends a share. Stop Sharing ends the picture and keeps the device on air. Stop Broadcast ends the share, and other devices can no longer find it. A watching device or an agent never ends a share.

A device either broadcasts or watches. Watching from a device that broadcasts ends its broadcast, and starting a broadcast stops the screens that device watches. Beamize asks you first.

Refuse, Block, Forget

  • Refuse turns a request down. That device must wait a minute before it can ask again.
  • Block, in the menu next to Refuse, turns the request down and silently closes that device's later connections. To undo it, open Broadcast and tap Unblock under Blocked.
  • Forget ends a pairing. On the watching device, open Watch, then swipe left on the device under Paired, or open its context menu, and choose Forget. On the sharing device, open Broadcast and tap Remove under Allowed to Watch. After that, the device has to ask again.

A paired device can come back with a new identity, for example after Beamize was deleted and installed again on it. Beamize never pairs it again on its own. Watch shows this message, and you pair the device again:

«device» is not the device you paired (it may have been reset). Forget it, then ask again.

Why a code

The code proves to your watching device that it reached the device in front of you. Someone in the middle gets one chance in a million to fake it. On the sharing device, your Accept is what lets a device in. Accept only a request you expect.

No devices appear

Check these in order.

Start Broadcast first

Other devices can find a device only while it broadcasts. On the device you want to see, open Broadcast and tap Start Broadcast. Then search again from Watch.

Local Network

Beamize needs Local Network on both devices. When it is off, the list stays empty even if everything else works.

  • On Mac: open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Local Network. Turn on Beamize.
  • On iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro: open Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Local Network. Turn on Beamize.

On Mac, when the list stays empty for this reason, Watch says that macOS is refusing Beamize access to the local network. On Home, the tip No devices appear? has an Open Settings button.

Same network

Both devices must be on the same local network, in the same subnet. Guest and corporate Wi-Fi networks often keep devices from seeing each other. This is called client isolation. Devices on different subnets or VLANs would need a Bonjour gateway. We have not tested one.

VPN

A VPN that sends all traffic through its tunnel can hide your local network. Turn it off, or set it to keep local traffic out of the tunnel if it offers that.

For network admins

Beamize finds devices with Bonjour: mDNS on UDP port 5353, service type _beamize._udp. It streams over QUIC, which runs on UDP, on a port the system picks. Both must be allowed between the two devices.

Several screens

Watching one screen at a time is free. With Beamize Pro, a device watches up to four screens at once.

On Mac, iPad and Apple Vision Pro, each screen can have its own window. In Watch, under Watching, open the menu next to a screen and choose Open in New Window.

Without Pro, asking for a second screen shows:

Watching several screens at once needs Beamize Pro. Stop the one you watch to watch another.

A sharing device shows its screen to one watching device at a time. A second one sees:

device is busy: someone else is already watching it, or too many requests are waiting.

Keep it awake

A sleeping device has nothing to show. Keep the sharing device awake while you watch it. Beamize does not keep a device awake.

On Apple Vision Pro, taking it off turns off its displays, locks it and puts it to sleep. Apple explains it in Wake and unlock Apple Vision Pro.

On iPhone, iPad and Mac, the system's display and sleep settings decide when the screen turns off.

Agents on your Mac

With Beamize Pro, an AI agent on your Mac can see the screens you watch in Beamize. It connects through MCP, the Model Context Protocol, as a local stdio server. Your client must speak MCP 2025-03-26 or later. Agent access runs on the Mac only. It is off until you turn it on.

On iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro, the Agents card only explains this. A Beamize Pro subscription from any of your devices also works on the Mac, with the same Apple Account.

Turn it on

  1. Pair the device with your Mac in Beamize. Pairing always needs you.
  2. On that device, tap Start Broadcast, then Share Screen.
  3. On the Mac, open Home, then Agents. You can also choose Agents… in the Beamize menu, or press Command-Comma.
  4. Turn on Let AI agents see the screens you watch. Without Beamize Pro, the switch stays off and the sheet offers See Beamize Pro.
  5. Under Client, choose the format your client reads: Command, JSON, Codex or Claude Code. Click Copy. The line under it says where it goes.
  6. Restart your client if it was open. While a client is connected, Status says Agent connected.

To check, ask your agent to list your Beamize devices.

The text under the switch

Any MCP client can list devices, watch one and take screenshots. Pairing always needs you.

Screenshots go to the agent you connect, which may send them to its AI provider. While access is on, an agent can open Beamize when it needs it.

Configurations

The Agents sheet offers four formats, in this order. Each one runs Beamize itself with --mcp-stdio. The examples below are for Beamize in the Applications folder. The Agents sheet shows the exact path for your Mac.

Command. For any MCP client that launches a stdio server.

/Applications/Beamize.app/Contents/MacOS/Beamize --mcp-stdio

JSON. The mcpServers entry most clients read.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "beamize": {
      "args": [
        "--mcp-stdio"
      ],
      "command": "/Applications/Beamize.app/Contents/MacOS/Beamize"
    }
  }
}

Codex. Add this to ~/.codex/config.toml.

[mcp_servers.beamize]
command = "/Applications/Beamize.app/Contents/MacOS/Beamize"
args = ["--mcp-stdio"]

Claude Code. Run this once in a terminal.

claude mcp add beamize -- /Applications/Beamize.app/Contents/MacOS/Beamize --mcp-stdio

Codex and Claude Code are named here for their configuration formats. Beamize is not affiliated with their makers.

What an agent can do

  • List the devices Beamize can show (list_devices).
  • Watch a paired device that is sharing (watch_device).
  • Take a screenshot, in JPEG or PNG (screenshot).
  • Take a short burst of up to ten pictures (screenshot_series).
  • Wait up to 60 seconds for the screen to change, then get the new picture (wait_for_change).
  • Stop watching the devices it opened (stop_watching).
  • Open Beamize on the Mac when it needs it, while access is on.

Agents get still pictures. Live video stays in the app.

What an agent cannot do

  • Pair or approve a device. That always needs a person.
  • Start or stop sharing on a device. Only the person at that device does.
  • End a session a person opened in Beamize.
  • Act on a device. It sends no touch, no typing and no input of any kind.

Error messages

Beamize answers your agent with these messages, word for word. In them, device stands for a device's name.

Agent access is off. The message starts with Beamize is not running, or agent access is off in Beamize. Its end, in parentheses, names the cause. Turn on the switch in Home, then Agents.

No Beamize Pro. Subscribe, or restore your subscription, in Home, then Beamize Pro.

Agent access is part of Beamize Pro, and this Apple Account does not have it. A person can subscribe in Beamize: Home > Beamize Pro. Nothing else changed: the screens a person watches stay as they are.

The subscription did not load in time. Ask again in a moment.

Beamize could not read its subscription in time (StoreKit did not answer within 3 s). Try again in a moment.

The device is not paired. Pair it in Beamize on the Mac first.

  • No device is paired or nearby. A person must pair a device in the Beamize app before it can be watched; no tool can pair.
  • 'device' is not paired. Pairing needs a person: open Beamize on the Mac and pair it first.

The device is not sharing. On that device, tap Start Broadcast, then Share Screen.

  • 'device' is not broadcasting right now. Ask its wearer to start broadcasting in Beamize.
  • «device» is not broadcasting. On «device», open Beamize and tap Start Broadcast, then Share Screen, and ask again.
  • «device» is on air and waiting: it is not sharing its screen yet. On «device», tap Share Screen in Beamize, and ask again.

The Mac is sharing its own screen. Watching would end that share, and an agent never ends one. Stop the broadcast on the Mac yourself, then ask again.

This Mac is broadcasting (or holds screen access), and watching would stop that. Beamize will not end a broadcast or a capture session for an agent: stop the broadcast in the app yourself, then ask again.

A person is pairing that device. Finish the request or the code in Beamize first.

A request for «device» is in progress in Beamize. A person must finish it; the agent does not touch it.

Two copies of Beamize

If two copies of Beamize are open on the Mac, the Agents sheet shows this next to Status, and the Agents card on Home says Needs attention. Quit the other copy.

Another process already answers on path: is a second Beamize running?

Subscription

Beamize Pro adds agent access on the Mac and up to four screens at once. Sharing your screen and watching one screen stay free. One subscription works on all your devices that use the same Apple Account.

In the TestFlight beta, Beamize Pro is a test purchase. Nothing is charged.

Restore or redeem

Open Home, then Beamize Pro. The App Store's own buttons there let you restore a subscription you already have, or use an offer code with Redeem Code. On iPhone, the restore button reads Restore Subscription.

Manage or cancel

When Pro is active, Home, then Beamize Pro, shows a Manage button. You can also use your Apple Account:

  • On iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  • On Mac: open the App Store, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, click your name again on the page that appears, then Subscriptions. Or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

A subscription renews unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the period. To avoid a charge after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple explains each step in Cancel a subscription from Apple.

Refunds

Apple handles payments and refunds. We never see your payment details. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

When Pro ends

Nothing running stops. A screen being shared or watched stays on. Beamize refuses only what starts next, a second screen or an agent's call, and says why. The Agents switch stays as it is, so your client works again when Pro is back.
